Tamim Iqbal has been added to Bangladesh's squad for the Asia Cup

Tamim Iqbal has been added to the team in Bangladesh for the Asian Cup three days and a lot of drama, after he had initially excluded and mentioned only as a reserve. The BCB is now issued a release saying Tamim was added to the team, making it the 15-man squad for Asian Cup, which begins with a match between Bangladesh and Pakistan in Mirpur on 11 March.
His name was in the original 15-man list of voters prepared, but was removed after the list was given to the BCB president Mustafa Kamal for approval. Tamim has been removed from the team headed by chief selector Akram Khan announced his resignation, citing interference in the election of directors and the board president.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Tamim underwent fitness tests to prove that he was fully recovered from typhoid fever. Confirmation of his condition came from captain Mushfiqur Rahim and coach Stuart Law and cricket operations committee, but the drama was not over.
ESPNcricinfo has learned that on Thursday Kamal Board of cricket operations committee reported to continue with the 14-man squad without Tamim. After several hours of negotiations at the end Tamim was notified on Thursday in his name and had to rush to the team hotel and rest of the team to participate.



 Left Iqbal has played 24 tests, 109 One-Day Internationals Twenty20 Internationals and 15 for Bangladesh, where he scored 3,115 ODI runs at an average of 28.84 and a strike at 79.04 with three centuries.
