Cricket: Pakistan could play India in India over the new year

MUMBAI: India and Pakistan cricket officials have been working hard behind the scenes, and perhaps succeeded in a small window to find two arch rivals of a series of matches to play later this year, Indian news syndicate Daily News and analysis on Wednesday.

According to the report, the Board of Cricket Control India paragraph BCCI) officials and colleagues in the Pakistan cricket board (PCB) found a small window from 23 December 2012 and 10 January 2013 to both sides to meet in India one-day Internationals and Twenty20s.

"There is a possibility that we have a few games in December and January," said BCCI chief clerk.

Meanwhile, said DPS CEO Ahmed Subhani: "The Indian team is very busy, but we try to slot in a few races this year."

The report follows the PCB chief Zaka Ashraf visit to India, where he looked at the Indian Premier League final and a meeting with their counterparts in promoting bilateral relations cricket.

If the travel occurs, it will be the first of Pakistan's national cricket team after the attacks in Mumbai in November 2008, as relations between Pakistan and India fell. Coincidentally, the last bilateral series between Pakistan and India, India hosted in November 2007.

In an ongoing signs of thaw in cricket between Pakistan and India, BCCI, Pakistan had previously approved indications in the Champions League this year.
