Shakib happy with IPL champion

Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh allrounder, has only one day at home to sleep off delirium of Kolkata Knight Riders' IPL maiden triumph: he will play club cricket in Dhaka on Thursday. But he is not complaining, enjoyed victory and the celebrations that followed."It would have been better if I had played more matches [he played eight of the possible 18], but for a team's ultimate goal is to fight in a tournament," Shakib said. "I am still very happy because the IPL is a high quality domestic tournament. It was good that I have a number of contributions to the success of the team."The celebration after the victory in Kolkata, and the reception was great, and it is really a new experience for me. [Franchise owner] Shah Rukh Khan was in the clouds, because the team did not play so well in the last four tournaments."Shakib was the only foreign player on the team who participated in open-top bus parade in Kolkata, and function at the Eden Gardens, where tens of thousands of fans show up to celebrate. Although Shakib said he enjoyed every bit of it, his face burned and his body now calls for a break. There are non-stop cricket for the world No-rounder this year and the three before, and although he wanted a break after IPL, Bangladesh summer schedule keeps him busy, the World Twenty20 in Sri Lanka in september. With Knight Riders' participation in the Champions League T20 in October confirmed Shakib an extra tournament to contend with in his already crowded schedule."I will play Thursday Premier League club competition, it's good that we have Twenty20 matches for the [Twenty20] World Cup, but for me, what is most needed a break." He said. I'm not sure, but I will ask the board for a break. "Bangladesh Twenty20 series in Zimbabwe in June and then in Ireland in July that Shakib will miss the Friends Life T20 in England. Paul Grayson, chief coach in Essex, where Shakib is entered, told ESPNcricinfo that the club will miss him."Shakib had an offer to play for us. Agreement was adopted. We hoped that he would Twenty20, CB40 [domestic 40-over England tournament] and some [state] championship game, and that he would stay with us at the back end of august."It's very disappointing [not him]. He is No. 1 all-rounder in the world, and he crosses many boxes for us. Now we discover that BCB has not been agreed to give him a no objection certificate. They try a few things to solve, and they do not want to let him go. "Shakib is a great demand for the shortest version of the game, but he says he is disappointed not to a test anytime soon. "We [Bangladesh team] have forgotten what a test!" he said. "I do not think that gives me strength, I feel bad when I think it's better not to think, and just play what comes.". Bangladesh was the last test series against Pakistan in december last year.

Sakib's concern over Test matches is really a matter should be highly considered. BCB must have to find some friends and ICC support to make our players quality test cricketers. T20 matches are like a football match but Test Match is the basic of cricket. It gives a player opportunity to try all possible chances of defending the opponent either as a bowler or batsman. There are very rare number of players who are doing good in the shorter version without having a good experience of first class or test matches. Any how Bangladesh should manage to find fixture with high ranking Test side it may be series like 1 test 1 ODI & 1 T20. A 10 days tour must be enough for that. We need not to play practice matches with the host.
