Richard Pybus appointed new coach for Bangladesh Cricket Team with two-year contract

Richard Pybus, former Pakistan coach, has been appointed as Bangladesh coach, taking over from Stuart Law, who resigned in april. Pybus, 47, has a two-year contract with the BCSC and is expected along the Bangladesh side for their visit to Zimbabwe next month."I am satisfied with the possibility of coaching Bangladesh," Pybus said. "I look forward to getting busy with the boys."We have an active program to go, and for me the coming months will focus on building relationships with players and the technical staff and ensure that progress to the Asian Cup continues."Pybus is not responsible for the international side since 2003, but was flown to Bangladesh earlier this month to interview for the role of national coach. He will be the third coach in Bangladesh in a year when the law was in line for only nine months after another successful Australian Jamie Siddons in July last year.Pybus was appointed Pakistan coach for their 1999 World Cup campaign while he was with the Border, before returning to the South African provincial side. He coached Pakistan back to the 2003 World Cup and had stints with the Titans and Cape Cobras (South Africa), and Middlesex. He was with Cobra has until March 2012, and was also linked to the South Africa job last year.Born and raised in the north east of England was Richard Pybus own sporting ambitions limited by a series of injuries, and so he took the coaching while in his mid-twenties. He coached Border in South Africa before being poached in Pakistan ahead of their 1999 World Cup campaign. But a change in leadership meant that he lost his job - he had described the temporary president, when the side of the leader as a "clumsy old fool," as he must deal with old age! He returned to the Border, but took charge of Pakistan for the second time until after the 2003 World Cup and 2005 to the end of the 2006-07 season he was with the Titans. He was appointed coach of Middlesex in February 2007, but five months later stops citing personal reasons.A right-handed batsman and right arm fast medium bowler, was Richard Pybus "cricket career threatening injury and then Pybus could not continue his dream. He played only one List A game, and in the twenties of the coaching took as his profession. He first coached Border in South Africa in 1998-99, with the team final of the SuperSport Series results for the first time. Although he returned to the border after stint, Pybus took over Pakistan until after the World Cup 2003 and then developed into Titans, where he was head coach from 2005-06 and 2008-09. The Titans did well under his tutelage as she grabbed six titles in four seasons. A brief stint with Middlesex followed in 2007, but Pybus resigned after five months due to personal reasons.
